Abstract

HALITOSIS a bad oral smell is a common complaint between patients who refer to internists dentists, ENT- specialists and general physicians.Most of the patients without getting favorable results discontinue the treatment and at times this symptom evolves real personal and family problems. HALITOSIS has three major etiologies: 1- Non pathologic 2- Pathologic 3- Psychosomatic. Besides these mentioned causes, in both books and latest journals, a strong relation between HALITOSIS and HELICOBACTER PYLORI has been found that has change the therapeutic approach of this unpleasant symptom. In this article, new information in better understanding HALITOSIS and its management are mentioned. Likewise, a relationship between H. Pylori and bad oral smellis also being discussed.
