Abstract

Background: In CLINICAL RESEARCHES PATIENT'S PARTICIPATION has an important role especially in determining the enough sample size and final conclusions.Materials and methods: In this descriptive study we have evaluated the participation of CCU admitted patients in determining the prevalence of thyroid functional disorders. To meet this demand, 210 patients, including 84 females (40%) and 126 males (60%) were studied.Results: 186 patients (88.6%) have participated. 11 females (13.1 %) and 13 males (10.3%) have not participated. Later on, 12 patients were asked to refer for repeated TRH test, of whom 2 refused due to stroke and 9 of the other 10 patients came back.Conclusion: Results have revealed that PATIENT'S PARTICIPATION could be successfully achieved in case of giving enough information to those who are going to be included.
