Abstract

Purpose: To provide relevant data regarding the clinical aspects of VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">SPONTANEOUS VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE and the surgical results.Materials and methods: During 3.5 years, 44 eyes of 44 nondiabetic patients with VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">SPONTANEOUS VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE underwent standard pars plana deep VITRECTOMY and were followed for 3-6 months (4.4± 1.1). Demographic characteristics, surgical results, functional results, and postoperative complications were recorded.Results: Half of the patients were female and mean age ± SD of the patients was 56.1±11.3 (Range 28-75 years). The causes of VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE were retinal vein occlusion (63.7%), choroidal neovascularization (11.4%), presumed posterior vitreous detachment (9%), retinal tears without (6.8%) or with (4.5%) retinal detachment, and ocular tumors (4.5%).Conclusion: The frequency of causative factors is different from previous studies performed in other countries.
