Abstract

Mycoplasma has drawn interests because of its variety, distribution an its role in pathogenicity.In this study 139 females having symptomatic CERVICITIS and 64 females with asymptomatic CERVICITIS were studied for Mycoplasma hominis and Urea plasma urealyticum.Of 139 cases, 21 and 13 cases were positive in the liqiud and solid media respectively. M.hominis was recovered from 2 cases in the liquid and one case in solid media. Both M.hominis and UREAPLASMA urealyticum were isolated in 11 and 5 cases in liquid and solid media, respectively.No significant differences was found regarding the level of education and method of contraceptive used. Age of marriage and rate of infection was not showed significant difference. Neither the numher of leucocytes and the result of culture revealed significant differences.
