Abstract

This study was carried out on patients with signs or symptoms attributable spinal disorders. In 1980 CT scan largely replaced myelography as the initial EVALUATION of spinal IMAGING modullity. MRI has since assumed a premier role in the assessment of spinal disorders and CT scan remains a popular method. But myelography has become almost a rarity in medically sophisticated circules. Researches conclude that MRI combined with plain films provide an accurate and non-invasive technique for IMAGING study of spinal lesions. A review of 250 patients studied with myelography, CT scan and MRI in the results studied with MRI and plain film showed similarity. We use T1, T2, P, D (spin echos) & surface coils for MRI of spine including Cervical & lumbar region.
