Abstract

This is a cross sectional study on INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT (IQ) in 100 epileptic patients (more than 18 years old). Raven test was done and some factor type of seizure, EEG records, and medications were considered. Mean IQ was 90.46 (Sd=17.56) that in comparing with normal popular distribution (Mean=100, Sd=15) sharied lower rang but it is not significantly different. IQ level was statistically correlated with the type of seizure, medication and EEG records. Findings showed that patients with grandmal seizure and Phenobarbital treated group had lower level of IQ in comparing with others.
