Abstract

 Our aim in this article is to review the literature on the relationship between macroeconomic variables and stock market price index. some researcher argue that the growth in stock market activities is prerequisit of economic growth.In this article macroeconomic variables considered are foreign exchange rate, stock of money, inflation rate. Oil prices in international market and residential buildings prices. Our study is from 1991 until 2000 and we have used quarterly data. We have used regression analysis and tested hypothesis about the relationship between macroeconomic bariables and Tehran Stock Exchange Price Index.
