Abstract

Objective: The aim was to comparison ANXIETY, STRESS and DEPRESSION in HEMODIALYSIS and KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION Iranian patients.Materials and Methods: A descriptive- comparative study design was used. The sample consisted of 147 HEMODIALYSIS patient and 146 KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION patient who selected according to purposeful sampling. Questionnaire as a self report tools, DASS21, was used for data collection.Result: The mean age of HEMODIALYSIS and KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION patient was 53.13 years (51.7% men & 48.3% women) and 39.36 years (63.7% men& 36.3% women) respectively. More than fifty percentage of HEMODIALYSIS patients presented ANXIETY (63.9%), DEPRESSION (60.5%) and STRESS (51.7%) in everyday life. Meanwhile, in KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION group they were (48.6%), (39%) and (38.4%) respectively. Data analysis showed that the mean score of ANXIETY and DEPRESSION in HEMODIALYSIS group was significant more than KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION group, but there was not any significant deference about STRESS score.Conclusions: The result supports the view that there is a decreased score for ANXIETY and DEPRESSION in two group patient. However, it is necessary to investigate for correlation between two group and these variables.
