Abstract

Purpose: The Aim of Study Was Determine the VALIDITY and RELIABILITY of RAMSY Scale in ADULT PATIENT Hospitalized In Critical Care Unit in Iran.Materials & Methods: This Study Is Methodological Research .After Translate English Version Of (Ramsy) To Persian Version By International Quality Of Life Assessment Method, Eight Observers (Principle Investigator(PI), Six Nurses And One Resident Anesthesia) 120 Patients Hospitalized In Critical Care Unit By Non Probability, Convenience, Accessible And Purposeful Sampling Was Selected. Patients by PI Evaluated and All Investigators Observed and Independently Recorded A RAMSY and Glasgow Coma Scores. In Addition the PI Marked a 10cm Visual Analog Scale and Recorded Richmond SEDATION Agitation Score In Order To Determine Of VALIDITY RAMSY.Results: Inter-Rater RELIABILITY For RAMSY Score Was Excellent. Interclass Correlation Coefficient In Trained Group Showed 0.843 And The Weighted Kappa Score For Inter-Rater Agreement Was 0.875 with P>0.001 Indicating Very Good Agreement. In VALIDITY Testing, RAMSY Correlated Highly (Spearman's respectively r=0.978) With Visual Analog Scale and With Glasgow Coma (r=0.772, P<0.001) was Confirmed VALIDITY.Conclusions: According To These Findings, The RAMSY Was Confirmed As A Valid And Reliable Tool For Assessing SEDATION In The ADULT PATIENT Hospitalized In Critical Care Unit In Iran. In Finally Recommended, The Implementation Of The RAMSY Should Improve The Quality Of SEDATION Management In Critically Ill Patient, Facilitate Communication Between Nurse And Medical Staff With Regard To The Effectiveness Of SEDATION Regimens, And Also Assist With The Development Of Optimal SEDATION And Analgesia Guidelines For ICU Patients
