Abstract

Researchers have found the direct and indirect effects of stress on individual and its consequences through different researches carried out in different periods and organizations. Furthermore many researchers have compared POLICE profession with other professions in the field of stress and have warned extensively that the POLICE profession in a particular way is full of stress. Therefore the theorists have stated different factors for stress. in this article the factors related to work/organization, individual factors and attitudinal factors /psychological factors due to GENDER DIFFERENCES were studied. The results and the individual and organizational consequences of these factors have also been explained. Previous research review indicated that the work environment problems to much extent have influence on stress POLICE forces felt due to family social support, work group, social and organizational conditions and minority position they held in organization (due to gender, ethnic and racial groups). furthermore in more researches the women have been reported that they have more specific work environment problems than men. That is they are under stress for reasons other than problems they experience in work environment. The results indicated that the intervenes such as management strategies, supervision, training and development of organization norms and standards can have an important role for controlling level of POLICE forces stress.
