Abstract

The research purpose was to investigate the role of FEAR OF PAIN in SELECTIVE ATTENTION of patients with dental pain. Hence, a pictorial version of dot-probe was examined in a sample group of 120 subjects with dental complains. The results of this research revealed that subjects with high FEAR OF PAIN as compared to subjects with low FEAR OF PAIN in dot-probe attended away from painful stimuli, selectively (P<0.05). Overall it is concluded that, FEAR OF PAIN plays an important role in attentive bias towards painful stimuli.
