Abstract

One of stressful situations is terminal examinations & educational Curriculem changing. Then an experimental study was designed in order to determine the effect of use Benson Relaxation Technique (BRT) on anxiety level & salivary Immunoglobulin A (SlgA) concentration in school of Nursing & Midwifery students during terminal examinations (TE) in 1378.70 samples were assigned from target population by systematic random method & then was randomizly divided two groups " experimental & control ".The control group consisted of 29 subjects (24 females & 5 males) and the experiment group consisted of 27 subjects (20 females & 7 males). Subjects in the experimental group were taught (BRT) & Subject in the control group weren't taught anything.Data collection about demographic variables was performed by questionaire & Anxiety was measured by state-trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) on pre (TE) and post (TE). SlgA concentration was measured by Immunoturbi dimetery method on pre (TE) and post (TE).Data was analyzed by paired T-test exam. results were indicated that, there is no significant difference between the pre (TE) and post (TE) state anxiety scores in the experimental group (p=0.7). but state anxiety mean in the experimental group decreased from 43.4 pre(TE) to 42.8 post (TE), while state anxiety mean in the control group was determined from 39.34 pre(TE) to 41.03 post (TE). No significant difference was found for the experimental group in SIgA concentration (P=0.35) , but there was significant difference in the control group (P= 0.00). Therefore, the use of (BRT) caused stability in SIgA concentration during (TE).As a finding researchers suggest that (BRT) was taught intervention for eliminating anxiety and its complication, concentration in university course & inpatient setting.
