Abstract

Objective: to determine whether SONOHYSTEROGRAPHY and pressure lavage can release INTRAUTERINE ADHESION in mild and moderate ASHERMAN'S SYNDROME. Abstract Objective: To determine whether sonohysterogiaphy and pressure lavage can release INTRAUTERINE ADHESION in mild and moderate Sherman's Syndrome.Material and Methods: This study is a clinical study without control group in nine consecutive patients referred to the clinic for secondary infertility and hypomenorrhea.In patients with fining defect in HSG, INTRAUTERINE ADHESION was confirmed with HYSTEROSCOPY and signed informed consent. SONOHYSTEROGRAPHY and intrauterine injection of saline solution (200-250 ml).was performed. Increased intrautertne pressure and mechanical disruption of adhesion occurred. After completing the procedure foley catheter was fixed for 1 week. Estrogen premarine 2/5 mg/d and medroxyprogesterone 10 mg/d for the last 10 days of month was used for two months. 8 weeks after SONOHYSTEROGRAPHY control HSG was achieved. Main outcome measure was restoration of uterine cavity in HSG. The mean age of patients was 29 years. The mean days of menstrual bleeding were 3 days. On the base of March et al study, intirauterine adhesion was graded.Result: 7 patients had mild form and 2 patients had moderate form. 5 patients with mild form and 1 in moderate group, obtained satisfactory Lysis of Adhesion. Second HSG after 2 months showed no filling defect.2 patients with mild form and 1 with moderate form need had to have the procedure again for satisfactory in Lysis of Adhesion. No complication was observed in this study. Conclusion (s): This technique is safe and ideal as an office procedure for mild and moderate ASHERMAN'S SYNDROME, especially in centers with no access to operative HYSTEROSCOPY.
