Abstract

 In the present work the effect of simultaneous TEMPERATURE and MOISTURE on A. niger growth in the soild state fermentation was modeled. Experiments were designed as a two-factor design. Logistic model was used to calculate growth parameters in SSF. The results depicted tltat 35°C and 60% were optimum conditions respectively for cultural TEMPERATURE of A. niger and wheat bran initial moisture. Two polynomial expressions were obtained to model the effect of TEMPERATURE and MOISTURE simultaneously on both µ m and Xm of A. niger were inoculated on steamed wheat bran.
