Abstract

In this present article, at first, we present a complete report about Mulla Sadra's point of view regarding Mahdism; then, his opinion will be compared with that of his predecessor theologians and philosophers. To achieve these goals; since he sees no basic difference between Imamate and prophecy, prior to the other subjects, we discuss his opinions regarding prophecy, qualifications of prophet and quality of receiving revelation and inspiration and considering the approach of this report, we shortly indicate some points about sainthood and termination of prophecy. After preparing these antecedents to our article we discuss his opinions regarding Imamate, true benefits of Imam and considering the fundamental relation between thesis of the necessity of the existence of an Imam in every time and Mahdism, his ten arguments over necessity of the existence of Imam will be discussed elaborately. Our report regarding Mahdism will come to the end by representation of Sadra's view about the Twelfth Imam and his occultation. Finally we clarify his place in the history of Mahdism by comparing his viewpoints with that of the former scholars.
