Title

INTERRELATIONSHIP OF SYNTAX AND SEMANTICS IN DETERMINING PROPOSITIONAL COMPELEMENTS IN PERSIAN

Pages

  81-96

Abstract

In this paper, the main thesis is that there is a relationship between the semantic structure of the predicate in the main clause and the syntacic structre in the complement clause. In Persian, the syntactic difference between subjective and declarative sentences as complements is related to the differnces which exist between the predicate in the main clause and the predicate in the SUBORDINATE CLAUSE.
