Abstract

The enthroning of Mohammad Ali, the Qajarid King, and the start of his dissentions with the constitutionalists eventually led to the shelling of the Iran's parliament by the government forces which tried to put an end to the life of constitutionalism. After this event, a 13-month political period started in Iran which is regarded as the 'short despotism'. This period coincided with the resumption of new constitutionalists' campaigns. It can be said that nearly all social starts had representatives in this overall campaign, and every representative took part in the job of resisting against the despotism of Mohammad-Ali Shad. In this situation, the clergy, especially the spiritual leaders and the religious scholars living in holy places had a leading role. By later called 'clerical activities'. This articles is an effort to clarify these activities.
