Abstract

Today PRISON. are one of the certain centers of HIV in all over the world. This matter must be seriously noticed that the most of the PRISON.rs after a short time of jail retum to the socity . In fact PRISON.rs are not only susceptible to exposure infection of HW but also they are a reservoirfor beginning and development of the HIV in The society. The rate of HIV infection among the PRISON.rs is higher of general population. This study is a quasi-experimental one it has been aimd to evaluate the effect of HEALTH EDUCATION program on the AIDS preventive bahavior of PRISON.r aged under25 years old (Ghzalhesar-prison-Tehran). IN this research 50 males addicted PRISON.rs, were selected. A questionnaire was developed in four sections: demographic factors, knowledge, attitude and practice and it was used after taking reliability and validity. The level of KAP toward AIDS was evaluated first by using a questionnaire (pretest). The educational needs were recognized, and then the educational plan was designed. Educational method in this study was lecturing, group discussion, face to face, answer, question, poster,leaflet, pamphlet and video film. After 2 months performing education program, KAP determined (posttest)and then compard with pretest information Collection data analyzed by parametric and non-parametric statistic tests. The results of the study show that 22% of PRISON.rs in PRISON.had drugs Injection, 8% of them had sexual intercourse, 38% of them had arazor shared and 6%of them had tattooed. Also %82 of PRISON.rs were witness in using syring for drugs and %48 were witness for sexual intercourse of other PRISON.rs. Analysis of the data before and after the educational program showed that there is significant difference between knowledge, attitude and practice. The results of the study indicated that HEALTH EDUCATION programs has effected increase of KAP. (p<0.0001) The others results showed, there is significant relation between demographical educational variable and PRISON.rs knowledge and Attitude But there are not significant relation between condemnation period with PRISON.rs knowledge, Attitude and behaviors.
