THE EVALUATION OF OSTEOMYELITIS AND SEPTIC ARTHRITIS IN CHILDREN

Abstract

 Osteomyeltit is an in flammion of bone that is usually a hematogenous infection but it may be caused by open fracture of adjacent infective process. The most age affecting is 3 to 20 year-old and it is about two times as common in males as in females. A bacterial organism most common that cultured in this group shows staphylococus aurous that causes of 50 percent. the first clinical picture is pain and the other symptoms including fever, limitation of motion and it may caused septicemia in the neonatal period and early infancy.The sites of involvement are femur that affecting nearly 75 percent tibia is about 18.7 per and sacroiliac is about 6.2 per. A truma is known as most common predisposing agent. Radiologic picture are soft-tissue swelling subpreiostal reaction nd in long time or chronic process radiographic manifestation shows sequestrums. treatment consist of appropriate Antibiotic and sergical treatment.Septic Arthritis is most usually affected by three ways that it contains:1- spreading abroad blood bacteria.2- Extension of bacteria through adjecnt tissue.3- in the CHILDREN by epiphseal into the joint space.The most common age is 3 to 40 year - old, hip is the most usually joint that is affected. The hip joint is the 'only joint that is involved associated with OSTEOMYELITIS and SEPTIC ARTHRITIS. Clinical finding is showed pain about 100 percent, fever 92 per and localization symptoms including warmth, redness and tenderness that show nearly in 94 per of patient laboratory finding an ESR was elevated in 90.5 per. leukocytisis in 79.7 per positive CRP in the 75 per of patient. Treatment is including drainage specially in hip joint and shoulder and so we must admit the other case to do for them Antibiotic therapy injection and after receiving reply of culture changing for appropriate Antibiotic therapy.
