Title

Studying the Effect of Job Role Playing Games on Students’ Responsibility, Career Adaptability, and Dysfunctional Career Thoughts

Abstract

 Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of role playing games on the Responsibility, Career adaptability, and Dysfunctional career thoughts of Students in Isfahan city. Method: The statistical population included all male high school Students in district 3 of Isfahan in the academic year of 93-92. The study was quasi-experimental design included a pre-test and post-test with a control group. The sample consisted of 88 volunteers who participated in the study. 44 patients in the experimental group and 44 in the control group, they were randomly assigned. The experimental group participated in 8 sessions of 75 minutes of role playing, each of which played a role. The data were collected using the Responsibility subscale from the NEO Five-Factor Personality Inventory, the Career adaptability Inventory and the Career Thoughts Inventory. To analyze the data, covariance analysis was used. Results: The results showed that there is a significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the variables of Responsibility, Career adaptability, and Dysfunctional career thoughts (p <0. 05). Conclution: Job role playing games can increase Responsibility and Career adaptability and reduce the dysfunctional career thoughts.
