Abstract

This investigation examines the comparision of personlity traits of married employed women and housewives in Mashhad and its relationship to marital satisfaction. The research has been done on 300 women (155 employed women and 145 housewives women). These women were selected according to random sampling and cluster random sampling approaches among women population in Mashhad. The research instruments were the questionnaire of Marital Satisfaction (ENRICH) and California Personality Inventory (CPI). Reviewing the reliability average value in personality measures of employed women were 91.06 and of housewives were 86.48. At the end, the result of the study showed that there was not difference between Marital Satisfaction of the employed women and housewives. but there was a positive relation between some of personality traits and marital satisfaction of employed women and housewives. Also, there were negative correlation between the number of children and marital satisfaction in each group
