Procedures before LTMAdmitting the patient and introduce yourself, then explain how to do LTM and describe its aimDoing MRI with epilepsy protocolWashing the patient’s hairPreparing the instruments for starting the LTMMeasuring the head with 10-20 system and mark the spots with a red penDoing blood exam with doctor’s orderConsidering the patient’s consciousness and speechProcedures during LTMCheck the electrode’s impedance and change the electrode if it is necessary and put some gel under the electrodes.Select the abnormal changes like IED, SEIZURE, subclinical and etc.Observe the brain waves and manage the nursing careMake a friendly relationship with the patient and take care of her/him and protect the head box and the electrodes Do the nursing testRecord the SEIZURE and inform the doctor and perform his orderProcedures after LTMAfter recording sufficient SEIZUREs, call the doctor and remove the electrodes from the patient’s head, after 24 hours that the SEIZURE ends, the patient can be discharged.
