Abstract

REPRODUCTION BIOLOGY of SILVER POMFRET from BANDAR ABBAS waters during April 2005 to March 2006 illustrated long spawning period from March to September. We seldom observed spawners in that period and most of the females were in stages 2, 3 and 5, indicating the area is not SPAWNING GROUND for SILVER POMFRET. First length of female maturation (Lm50) was 24.8 cm (F.l). CONDITION FACTOR was 0.00536 g/cm3 and from February to June it had the best growth rate. Weight-length relationship was w =0.00002× L3.0902 and b doesn’t significantly differ from 3 (P>0.05).
