Abstract

In this study PREVALENCE and identification of causative agents of DERMATOPHYTES in SCHOOL children under 15 years were studied in ZAHEDAN. From 518 cases 102 were determined clinically positive for DERMATOPHYTES (19.7%). The study reveal Tcapitis the most common DERMATOPHYTES 57.8%.T coporis 13.7%0, Tunguinum 0.4% , T.capitis with T.corporis 23.6%, T.capitis with Teyebrow 1%, T.corporis with T.cruris 2.9%.The most common isolated causative agent was T.mentagrophytis (55.8%). Others were M.gypsium 18.6% , M.canis 807%,Tshoenleinii 2.9%, Trubrum 2.9% , E. flocusium 2.9%.Significant findings of this study were relationship between disease and parents conditions, education, number of baths per week, sex, family size and also being with pets at home.
