Abstract

While investigating the literal meaning and the Quranic and hadith application of the concept of Rasikhun fi al-Ilm, the author of the present paper underscores two aspects of this concept: positive aspect and negative one. Based on positive aspect, this concept means being knowledgeable and enlightened which plays a great role in understanding the holy verses of the Quran. On the other hand based on negative aspect it means avoid being doubtful and undecided. This approach is a great help with interpreting the seventh verse of CHAPTER THREE of THE HOLY QURAN. Many hadiths utilized to interpret this verse, also substantiate INTERPRETATIONs which are based on syntax and semantics.
