Abstract

 THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY WAS TO DETERMINE THE EFFECT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL STRATEGIES AS MOTIVATIONAL AND INSTRUCTIONAL SELF-TALK WAS BOTH SIMPLE AND COMPLEX SKILLS. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT MOTIVATIONAL SELF-TALK COULD BE MORE EFFECTIVE THAN INSTRUCTIONAL SELF-TALK. THE POSITIVE EFFECTS MAY BE DUE TO BETTER FOCUS, BETTER FEEL OF CONFIDENCE AND MORE RELAXED IN ATHLETES.
