COMPARISON STUDY OF CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF SYNTHETIC NIO NANOPARTICLES AND ITS NANO BIO-COMPOSITE

Abstract

 NICKEL OXIDE IS AN IMPORTANT AND HAS RECEIVED CONSIDERABLE ATTENTION DUE TO ITS APPLICATIONS IN VARIOUS FIELDS OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARTICULARLY IN THE GALVANIZING INDUSTRY TO PREVENT OXIDATION OF METAL SURFACES OR AS CATALYSTS, SEMICONDUCTOR TYPE-P, THIN FILM SENSORS, LIGHT EMITTING DIODES, SOLAR CELLS, FUEL CELLS SENSITIVE [1-4]. IN THIS STUDY, A WET CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS ROUTE ASSISTED BY ULTRASONIC WAS USED FOR FABRICATING BOTH NANO MATERIALS. SO, NICKEL OXIDE NANOPARTICLES (NPS) AND ITS NANO BIO-COMPOSITE WERE PREPARED USING AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION REACTION OF METAL PRECURSOR IN THE FIRST STAGE. THE SECOND STAGE OF OUR STUDY INVOLVES CONFIRMATION OF NANO MATERIAL FORMATION, SIZE, STRUCTURE AND MORPHOLOGY OF SYNTHETIC SAMPLES BY FT-IR, UV-VIS, XRD AND SEM TECHNIQUES. IN THE LAST STAGE, PRODUCED NICKEL OXIDE NPS AND NANO BIO COMPOSITE WAS APPLIED FOR DYE REMOVAL FROM SYNTHETIC AQUEOUS SAMPLES.OPTIMIZATION OF AFFECTING VARIABLES OF THE REACTION WAS PERFORMED BY FRACTIONAL FACTORIAL DESIGN. IN THE PRESENT WORK, IT WAS OBSERVED THAT TWO PROCEDURES ARE EFFICIENT FOR DYE REMOVAL BUT BY REPLACING NANO BIOMASS CORES, THE INDUCTIVE COMPONENTS COULD BE MADE SMALLER AND HIGHLY DURABLE- CONTRIBUTING GREATLY TO IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OF CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF NANO BIO-COMPOSITE IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL APPLICATIONS.
