Abstract

OMAR ABU RISHA with relying on the extensive culture and literature and the human heritage could achieve the highest status among Syrian modern poem.Since his poem tongue was glorious and stable and used the symbols and myth, he advanced on his way. He never stopped at the mythology level but learnt of it and combined it with fresh issues. He could go beyond the fable using his experience, imagination, and personal perception and sometimes he engaged in Regeneration and creation of a new story, I.e. Joan of arc, Delilah, Dik Al Jen…Poet manipulated those nobles’ histories and rewrote them in a fabled framework. In Phoenix interpretation, he tries to find a band between the fable and the reality levels. Further more in Everest ode, He used the symbolic techniques in order to portrait (define) the mythical and mystic connection between the mountain and earth, this admires the poets’ innovations. Thus we intended to investigate the most important mythical symbols in his poems.
