Abstract

 ZINC OXIDE IS A MULTIFUNCTIONAL WIDE BAND GAP (3.37EV) DIAMAGNETIC SEMICONDUCTOR. ITS NANOPARTICLES ARE VERY INTRESTING BECAUSE OF THEIR VERSATILE PROPERTIES, SUCH AS THEIR PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF ELECTRONIC, OPTICAL, MAGNETIC AND ACOUSTIC DEVICES [1,2]. THERE ARE DIFFERENT METHODS FOR DOPING ZNO WITH INTERMEDIATE METALS LIKE: MN, CU, FE AND ETC. IN THIS RESEARCH, WE USED SOLID STATE REACTION FOR SYNTHESING ZNO AND MN DOPED ZNO NANOBALLS BY USING MERCAPTOSUCCINICACID (MSA) AS A CAPPING AGENT, WHILE ZINC ACETATE DEHYDRATE (ZN[(CH)3(COOH)]2.2H2O)AS PRECURSOR AND (MN [(CH)3(COOH)]2.4H2O AS DOPANT AND REACTION TEMPERATURE IS 500OC.MAGNETIC MEASUREMENT DONE BY VIBRATING SAMPLE MAGNOMETER (VSM) INSTRUMENT AND CONFIRMED MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF NANOBALLS AFTER DOPING. X-RAY DIFFRACTION (XRD) ANALYSIS SHOW WURTZITE, HEXAGONAL STRUCTURE OF ZNO AFTER DOPING, AND MN DOPIG EFFECTS ON PEAKS SHIFTS. SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM) IMAGES CONFIRMED GROWING NANOBALLS BY USING MSA CAPPING AGENT, PRODUCED NANOBALLS ARE DISTINGUISHABLE AND THEIR DIAMETER IS BETWEEN 1- 100 NANOMETER.
