DESIGN AND SYNTHESIS OF NEW SULFAMOYLACETAMIDE DERIVED FROM ANILINE UNDER SOLVENT FREE CONDITION

Abstract

 SULFONAMIDES WERE INTENSIVELY INVESTIGATED AS THE FIRST EFFECTIVE ANTIBACTERIAL AGENTS. [1] DIFFERENT 2- (BENZO [D] THIAZOL-2-YLTHIO) -N - (4- (N-PHENYLSULFAMOYL) PHENYL) ACETAMIDE WERE SYNTHESIZED IN FOUR STEP, AS SHOWN IN SCHEME. FIRSTLY, ANILINE WAS ACYLATED WITH 2-CHLORO ACETYL CHLORIDE. THE PRODUCT (1) WAS REACTED WITH HSO3CL TO PRODUCE 4- (2-CHLOROACETAMIDO) BENZENE-1-SULFONYLCHLORIDE (2). DERIVATIVES OF COMPOUND (3) WAS SYNTHESIZED BY THE REACTION OF 2 WITH DIFFERENT AMINE. [2] IN THE FINAL STEP 2-MERCAPTO BENZOTHIAZOLE WAS REACTED WITH 2-CHLORO-N - (SULFAMOYL) ACETAMIDE. THE SULFONAMIDE WAS OBTAINED IN HIGH YIELD AND PURITY AFTER AN EASY WORK-UP.ANTIBACTERIAL ASSAY OF ALL THE TEST COMPOUNDS SHOWED GOOD ACTIVITIES AGAINST BOTH OF GRAM POSITIVE BACTERIA AND GRAM NEGATIVE BACTERIA.
