Abstract

Background: Emotion Regulation and Attachment to God are among significant factors influencing Life satisfaction. however, it is worth noting whether Cognitive emotion regulation plays a mediating role in the relationship between Attachment to God and Life satisfaction Aims: The purpose of this study was to investigate the prediction of the Life satisfaction based on of Attachment to God with mediating role of cognitive emotional regulation. Method: For to do, This study was based the correlation method and path analysis design, 352 students from yasouj University were chosen by using multi-stage-cluster sampling method. The participants complete these questionnaires: Multidimensional Life satisfaction Scale (2001), Beck McDonald Attachment to God inventory (2004) and Cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (2002). All data analyzed by structural equation model. Results: The results indicate that there is a significant negative relationship between Attachment to God and Life satisfaction and Attachment to God and Cognitive emotion regulation(p<0/001). In addition the results of structural equation model showed that, Cognitive emotion regulation plays mediating role in the relationship between Life satisfaction and Attachment to God. Conclusions: The findings indicate that the model developed lends itself quite well to explaining how Attachment to God and cognitive emotional regulation affect on Life satisfaction. A greater focus on cognitive emotional regulation and proper Attachment to God could lead to a higher level of Life satisfaction among students.
