Abstract

Maritime transport plays a very important and decisive role in economic development and international trade. The role of human factor and sailors is irreplaceable and privileged in this activity. The purpose of this study is to design and explain the model of human resource development in the maritime industry. The present research is fundamental-applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of method. In terms of nature, it is an exploratory research. The statistical population of this study consists of sailors in the country who have valid certificates in unlimited voyages. The statistical population of this study is 4916 people and 357 people were selected through stratified random sampling as a statistical sample, appropriate to the volume, in three categories of management, operations and support, and the "Jesse-Morgan" table was used to determine the sample size. The tool used is a questionnaire developed by researchers. The validity of the test was estimated to be 0. 951 using Cronbach's alpha method. To evaluate the construct validity of the questionnaire after estimating the adequacy of sampling (KMO) and Bartlett sphericity test, factor analysis was performed based on principal components analysis method. Descriptive and inferential statistics and structural equation modeling were used to analyze the data using SPSS and AMOS software. The results show that the factors of education, international and global attitude, behavior, infrastructure, strengthening the retention of seafarers in the Seafaring profession, empowerment and human resource processes are effective on human resource development. In conclusion, the final model of the research was extracted and its fit was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis.
