Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to determine the degree of existence of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT in EDUCATION in Marand zone form the school managers' point of view. The research method is survey type and the data gathering tool is a questionnaire. The population consisted of all the managers of elementary school, junior high school and high schools in the Marand zone. The research sample included 190 subjects selected through applying random-interval method. The findings showed that the most degree of existence among six components of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT belongs to "politics and strategies of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT" and the least is related to the two components of "the system of rewarding" and " the encouragement of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT". The average existence of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT is 3.3. In addition, there is no difference between the managers' point of view based on their gender, age, work experience, school type and urban or rural areas regarding the KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT. However, the managers who hold the degrees of B.A. and higher believe that there is a higher degree of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT.
