COMPARISION OF DEPRESSION, STRESS, ANXIETY, SHYNESS, AGGRESSION AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN SINGLE-PARENT AND TWO-PARENT MALE STUDENTS

Abstract

 This study compared DEPRESSION, STRESS, anxiety, shyness, AGGRESSION and ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT among single-parent and two-parent male students. The population consisted of all male students in Kermanshah High Schools, of which using the cluster sampling method, a sample consisting 190 students was selected. They were given a questionnaire to complete. Out of them, 184 students completed the. The tools were Jake and bass’s (DAS) for measuring STRESS, and DEPRESSION, and (AGO) to check anxiety, shyness, and AGGRESSION.The research design was descriptive. Descriptive statistics and independent t test were statistical analysis involved. Results showed that there was a significant difference between the average ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, DEPRESSION, STRESS and shyness between two-parent boys and single-parent boys. But there was no significant difference in anxiety and AGGRESSION in the two groups. It can be concluded that the deprivation of parental mental health and ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT in children has a negative effect.
