Abstract

Background: DEPRESSION is one of the most prevalent psychiatric disease. Considering its high PREVALENCE and side effects (like sadness ,lack of motivation, suicidal thought and lack of decision making)a research in this field seems necessary. We initiate this research, to recognize the PREVALENCE of the disease among patients of the 506 hospital in 2002.Materials & Methods: It is a cross-sectional research performed on 200 patients by BECK DIAGNOSTIC TEST and clinical interview.Result: 89% of patients suffer from some degree of DEPRESSION, (24% mild, 24% moderate, and 41% Essential (Severe) DEPRESSION).Conclusion: considering high PREVALENCE of DEPRESSION, establishing some consulting centers, specializing some budget on organizaing pilgrimage and Trips for the Personnel, solving their economic problems could improve the situation.
