Abstract

The present paper aims at investigating the relationship of EMOTIONAL ADJUSTMENT and RELIGIOUS BELIEFS with the strategies for resolving conflict with parents among students of Ahwaz Azad Islamic University. The statistical population includes all the students of Ahwaz Azad Islamic University in the academic year of 1391-1392 solar (2012-2013), among whom 200 students (100 male and 100 female students) were selected as sample through random classified sampling. The data analysis by Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression at the significance level of p<0.0001 shows that there is a significant relationship between EMOTIONAL ADJUSTMENT and RELIGIOUS BELIEFS with the strategies for resolving conflict with parents among students. Furthermore, the relationship of EMOTIONAL ADJUSTMENT and RELIGIOUS BELIEFS with strategies of resolving conflict with parents is multiple among students. In the mean time, regression analysis shows that EMOTIONAL ADJUSTMENT and RELIGIOUS BELIEFS are better predicators for the variables of strategy of argumentation and verbal aggression, respectively, and that RELIGIOUS BELIEFS are only good predicators for the variable of the criterion for the strategy of physical aggression.
