CARBON DIOXIDE REFORMING OF METHANE TO SYNTHESIS GAS HAS BEEN ATTRACTED DUE TO BOTH ENVIRONMENTAL AND INDUSTRIAL PERSPECTIVES. IN DRM, DIFFERENT ACTIEV METALS (NI, PT, RH, RE, RU, MO, IR AND CO) OVER VARIOUS SUPPORTS (AL2O3 , SIO2, LA2O3, MGO, ZRO2, TIO2 AND LA-HEXAALUMINATE) HAVE BEEN REPORTED. THE CURRENT PAPER TRYES TO ADDRESS THE POTENTIALS OF THESE CATALYSTS. IN MOST OF LITERATURE, NI HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED, DUE TO ITS HIGH ACTIVITY AND CO2/METHANE CONVERSION, AS WELL AS POTENTIAL INCENTIVES WITH ECONOMICAL BENEFITS. THE CATALYSTS LIKE NI/CE-ZRO2/Q -AL2O3, NI/G-AL2O3, NI/Q-AL2O3 AND NI/LA-HEXAALUMINATE HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED AS SUITABLE CANDIDATES IN DRM. THE IR CATALYST SHOWED POOR ACTIVITY AND SELECTIVITY. CO/MGO HAS PROVED TO BE A HIGHLY EFFICIENT AND STABLE CATALYST.
