Exercise is considered so important in today's world that almost all nations try to include physical exercise in the daily programs of their people extensively. Nowadays, doing exercise by women during puberty and pregnancy, in particular has been emphasized by the medicine.Therefore, assessing the awareness and practice of physical exercise by women during pregnancy we did a descriptive research, and to collect the data all 100 participants, which were selected by non-random sampling method were interviewed.Findings showed that the awareness of 53%, 45% and 2% of the contributors were poor, fair and good, respectively, and in ranging from 0-36, the mean score of their awareness was measured as 12.36 with a mean deviation of 6.04. Considering their practice, 53% were used to walk, 4% suppleness and 3% said that they climb mountain, and the rest 40% did not do any exercise.As the results clearly show there is an intensive need for educating and motivating whole society especially pregnant women toward exercise and to emphasize on it's importance in life long. Health staff and mass media are responsible resources for this vital issue.

IUDs are the most commonly used reversible contraceptive in the world today, and are known worldwide as contraceptives, but they also provide users with a variety of noncontraceptive health benefits. Most women and clinicians are unaware that IUDs confer important noncontraceptive health benefits, which are as follow, not having systematic effects and protection against endometrial and cervical cancers. Besides, hormonal IUDs treat idiopathic menorrhagia and reduce menstrual blood loss and heavy bleeding in patients with uterine fibroma and adenomyosis, they also decrease dysmenorrheal and prevent endometrial hyperplasia.In an overall view considering that the health benefits of IUDs are many, an expert consular Would make the client ready and eager to use them.Trained physicians and health providers are those who can offer proper services to right patients, and increase the usage of IUDs widely.

Patient teaching is a critical component of nursing roles, and nurses engagement in patient teaching is affected by nurses' perception of their role as educator, educational preparation, environmental and resource issues.So, to take a look on nurses' perception of patient teaching plus inhibiting and enhancing factors on it, we performed a cross sectional study, with 259 participants, selected by stratified sampling method, and in order to gather the data questionnaires were used.As a result 95.8% of nurses perceived that patient teaching is an important part of every nurse's responsibility and 95% of them said that patient teaching is a top priority in their career, but they reported that the time consuming nursing duties such as patient care, charting and administering medications, didn't leave enough time for patient teaching. The top three factors inhibiting patient teaching were staff, time and unavailability of resource material. The top three enhancers were designation of one or two nurses to do teaching, providing time for nurses to do so, and development of more inclusive information guidance sheets to assist them in teaching specific topics. Providing essential resources and in-service education also enhance patient teaching. Besides, direct observation of nurses in clinical area, as they are engaged in patient teaching, is clearly needed. This will provide better understanding of the extend to which nurses are able to fulfill their professional mandate in providing patient teaching.

Breast cancer is a very popular neoplastic disorder. In Iran, 7347 new cases have been reported by the year 2000. Support is a prominent need of anyone who suffers from this disease.Determination of the needs of women with breast cancer, a descriptive study was carried out in some hospitals of Tehran. In this study needs were sorted by priorities, meanwhile, some variables such as age, marital status, types of treatment and the duration of disease were considered as well. 200 patient, all were under treatment within 5 years took part in this study.Findings revealed that those, between the ages of 21 to 75 emphasized on their treatments, future lives, friends and families as their important needs, but married women said that their friends, family and future lives were their prominent needs respectively. Women, who were gone under mastectomy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, mentioned that their relation with friends is their most important need. Furthermore, significant relations were found between mentioned needs from the point of their priorities. Also factors such as age, marital status, duration of the disease and etc, did not interfere with the type of the needs.It can be concluded that all participants were worried about, future life, diagnosis, treatment, supportsystem, information, femininityandbodyimage, respectively. So, it is suggested that health team members specially nurses pay their special attention to women suffering breast cancer and provide them with good assessment, proper education and care.

Critical thinking and problem solving abilities are vital skills in nursing, enhancing these skills, nursing educators should use different educational strategies.Therefore, to determine the effect of concept mapping on the students' meaningful learning, which is one of the ways to critical thinking, we conducted an experimental study designed with two groups. 45 second semester nursing students were selected and randomly assigned in two groups (the experimental N=24, the control N=21). The experimental group received the concept mapping treatment while, the control one treated just with traditional teaching method. For gathering data, we used an achievement test that consists of two parts (knowledge and meaningful learning).Results showed that these two educational strategies were useful in enhancing knowledge and meaningful learning about nursing process (P=0.001). In comparison, the average score of experimental group, in knowledge test, was higher than the control one, but this didn't showed a statistically significant difference (P= 0.21). In meaningful test, also, the average score of experimental group was more than control group and this difference was statistically meaningful (P= 0.03).Considering that the positive effect of concept mapping was revealed in this study, we suggest nursing educators to use it, especially in courses in which deep understanding is critical.

These days, one of the most tragic events in all societies is addiction; unfortunately, these are the youngsters whom, as they say are used to drugs because of all kinds of hardships from personal to social. Addiction ruins the cultural, social, moral, economical and even political impacts of countries. Assessing personal, familial, social and economical characteristics of addicted women in prison, we conducted a descriptive study on all 108 addicted imprisoned women in Even prison, our data gathering tool was questionnaires. Regarding our findings the mean age of the participants was 33.92 years. Meanwhile 25.5% of them were educated at below high school level, 6.6% of these women had university certificate. Their family members ranged between 2 to 22 and they earned 10000 to 200000 tomans monthly. From the point of family responsibility 50.5% of participants had to cover the expenses of the family themselves and in 21% of them the spouse had to do so. Besides, 42% of these women reckoned that the first person whom made them familiar with the drugs was their husbands and in 48% of them the first place of drug using was their homes.Overall, considering that the addiction is the calamity of all economical, social, educational and cultural groups of countries, we request the authorities to provide designs for preventing addiction and treating addicted people and also to provide the people with opportunities to be able to work, earn money and have a satisfactory life to decrease their stresses.

Patients' satisfaction is a complex phenomenon which is Managers and care givers have to be aware of patients' Promoting quality of care depends on this issue. To assess the satisfaction level of patients in medical surgical wards, we conducted a cross-sectional study in which 400 patients, selected by convenient sampling method. The data were collected by interviewing and completing questionnaires.Findings revealed that 79% of patient was satisfied with services gained from physicians and 74% of them said that they were satisfied with nursing services.To sum up, promoting the satisfaction level of patients, we recommend purposeful considerations and interventions.

Developing, Progressing and prosperity of an organization depends on the managers' knowledge and attitude. In nursing as a profession, regarding high population, increased life expectancy and the needs for good health services, the responsibility of the managers to be equipped with new knowledge is very prominent.So, to assess the knowledge level and attitude of nursing managers towards the principals and it's relations with their managerial practices from the view point of their personnel, a correlative study was designed with 42 managers and 343 nursing personnel, in order to gather the data questionnaires were used.Our findings showed that 79% of matrons, 64.3% of supervisors and 58.3% of head nurses were enjoying average knowledge of management and regarding their positive attitude, matrons, supervisors and head nurses gained the score of 100%, 71.4% and 87.5 respectively. Furthermore, considering their managerial practice, the percentages of 50% and 57.1% belonged to matrons and supervisors which practiced in a medium level, meanwhile, 70.8% of head nurses were good in managerial practices.Overall, promotion of the knowledge level and attitude of nursing mangers is of great importance, because good quality of nursing care depends on this issue.
