Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The aim of this study is to examine the feasibility of sexual training in high schools of Tehran.Methods: Statistical Society included all professors of Tehran farhangian university, health educators and school administrators in Tehran high schools in the academic year 2014-2015, 537 samples were selected by using cluster sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with 28 items in the form of the 7 components of fitness knowledge, culture, attitude, content, financial, human resources and skills, which measures feasibility of sexual training. Its validity was confirmed by experts and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated as 0.86.Results: The results show that the state of preparedness and readiness of content knowledge is higher than average and in a good condition and the possibility of sexual health education in this category is in a favorable situation. By examining the average of these variables, and refer to descriptive statistics, it is defined that the financial and cultural preparation are not in conducive condition and stayed on lower level than the average population. The results also show that human resources preparation, attitude preparation and skills preparation are not significant at a confidence level of 0.95. This means that the preparation of human resources, attitude and skills, are close to the average population, and the preparations are moderate.Conclusion: Sexual health education topic is a long process for all segments of society: teachers, students, parents, researchers, consultants, educational planners and curriculum, policy makers, practitioners and university professors that should always be considered.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Clinical evaluation of students by the direct observation of procedural skills (DOPS) in the practical and real situations ensures their capabilities in facing and predicting the clinical situations in case of particular patient’s conditions. The present research is conducted to determine and compare the efficacy of DOPS with traditional methods in clinical skill learning of students working in intensive care unit (ICU).Methods: This trial work was performed in 2016 in ICU of one training hospitals of Tehran on 15 nursing students who were in the middle of their internship course. The students were randomly divided into two control (25 members) and test (26 members) groups. The evaluation in the control group was conducted based on the traditional approach and for the test group (intervention group) was implemented with DOPS method, based on a reliability and validity confirmed checklist prepared by the author. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, cosmograph-Smirnov, chi-square (c2), and independent t statistics in SPSS16 software.Results: A significant difference was obtained between the final score of these test and control groups in terms of the studied parameters (Arterial Blood Gas, p=0.001, and central venous pressure, p=0.004). The final scores were not statistically significant in terms of marital status and gender of the participants. However, the Pearson’s correlation coefficient indicated a positive meaningful (p<0.017, r=0.32) relationship between the final scores of the participants with their previous semester average scores.Conclusion: Since using DOPS leads to an improved learning of students, it is recommended replacing the traditional evaluation methods with this method or, at least, implement this new approach as a supplementary method for student evaluation.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Use of electronic technologies in the teaching learning process is an integral part of education today. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of using e- portfolio on learning of emergency medical students in pharmacology courses.Methods: This study is quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design and control group. Study population consisted of all paramedical college students in Kermanshah in the 2015-2016 school year. The sample consisted of 30 students were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. The instrument used in this study which consisted of learning pretest and posttest of pharmacology course, was acceptable with validity and reliability. Data were analyzed by using independent t test and Spss software version 18.Results: The experimental results indicate that there is a significant difference between post-test scores in experimental and control groups. In other words, the results of this study showed the use of e-portfolio is a significant impact on students' learning in the pharmacology course.Conclusion: This result indicates the effectiveness of electronic portfolio using in pharmacology learning, in contrast to traditional teaching methods and is the scientific testifier to recommend for using this model to teach at the University of Medical Sciences.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The most important goal of education, is helping students promote spiritual health, and bring up innate talents and spiritual training for their human perfection. This study aimed to introduce, professors, spiritual characteristics for role- modeling education from the perspective of Islam.Methods: In the qualitative study, a systematic review, focused on the question "What is spiritual indicators of perfect human” articles published in the years 1990 to 2016 with the key word: human, spiritual needs, spiritual health, in databases: PubMed, science direct, google scholar, SID, Cochrane were investigated. Commentaries of Shiite, reliable hadiths related to the characteristics of the owners of sound heart, were analyzed by Walker Avant content analysis method. Spiritual indicators of role- model professors were determined.Results: Role-model professors (The owners of sound heart) have spiritual health, they failed to nurture their innate talents, with self-purification, Journey to the much faith, Daily Self -care, adherence to spiritual lifestyle prophets as perfect humans, recognition in religion, to achieve moral virtues: Wisdom, Chastity, Courage, , justice, Generosity Kindness, Dignity of soul, Mahmoud position. They play an important role, as a part of hidden curriculum, in pastoral self- care training to their students.Conclusion: Due to the students search for meaning and their spiritual needs, professor should help them to achieve natural talents and spiritual health, by being as memes (Mentor, Guide, and role model).They should educate them based on social learning method.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The purpose of this study was to investigate The Effectiveness of Self-efficacy on Achievement Motivation of Students.Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with control group. The statistical population of study included all students in Guilan University of Medical Sciences in 2015 academic year, that among them 30 students were selected by using random sampling method and assigned to experimental group (15 individuals) and control group (15 individuals). The experimental group had received 8 sessions of Self-efficacy program. Achievement Motivation questionnaire used to data gathering. Data were analyzed by multivariable co-variance test.Results: Findings indicated that the research hypothesis of effect of Self-efficacy on Achievement Motivation of Students had been proven and students of experimental group in comparison with control group, in posttest had a significantly increases test anxiety and academic burnout.Conclusion: So, we can conclude that Cognitive Self-efficacy Program has a significant effect on Achievement Motivation of Students.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The main purpose of health system, is to maintain public health and providing favorable services for patient satisfaction. Critical thought is a process by which, a person assess ideas, information and sources of information providers, then logistic correlate with other ideas and information to become a desired form. The aim of study is to investigate the relationship between physician’s critical thoughts with patient’s satisfaction level in Sina hospital in the Tabriz city.Methods: The current study is a cross-sectional survey. Statistical population consisted of physicians and patients from Sina hospital of Tabriz city in the year 2016. Pearson correlation test and regression analysis were used to analyze the data.Results: The results from respondent’s points of view indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between physicians critical thoughts and patients satisfaction in all aspects, except identification dimension of critical thoughts. The results of regression test indicates the impact severity of critical thought’s independent variable, according to its constituent dimension (Perception, recognition, inference, interpretation and logical evaluation) in the dependent variable (patient satisfaction) is equal 0.558 and it represents a relatively strong correlation between these two variables.Conclusion: Although the critical thought of physicians and medical staffs has an important role to improve patient satisfaction, but it does not have a dramatic expansion in the health system. Therefore, health system managers should aim to foster critical thoughts of medical staffs, in order to achieve organizational goals (improving patient satisfaction).

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The aim of this study was to designing a learning quality model based on Siemens Connectionism theory in universities executing distance Education.Methods: This was an applied research in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of method and was survey type. The study population consist of all faculty members of distance education universities around the country that counts to 3380 members. The sampling method in the qualitative phase was purposive sampling method (convenient), consist of 10 experts in the field of distance Education and in quantitative phase, include stratified random sampling. The number of samples is 380. To gather data, researchers used analytical documents method for non-interactive and self-made questionnaire was used in survey method. Validity was assessed by using confirmatory factor analysis. For data analysis Lisrel v 8.8 and for model fitting AMOS software were used.Results: There is a significant difference between the theoretical and empirical Average indicators of the effectiveness of Siemens Connectionism Theory indicators on the quality of learning in distance education. Difference between the theoretical and empirical Average was More than middle. The highest ranking belongs to the indicators of Ecosystem Learning and other indicators in order of importance and influence are learning network, interact, learn the elements of pressure and formation of learning nodes.Conclusion: To keep pace with global developments in the field of distance Education, there is a need to apply the Siemens Connectionism theory. And if this is done well, it can change into very useful elements in universities.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Promoting health education programs in schools to prevent drug abuse, increase academic skills, behaviors and decrease risk of mental disorders is running. The aim of the present study was the effect of education on health-promoting school with academic stress, life skills and risky behaviors among students.Methods: Quasi experimental research design and pretest-posttest control group design. The study population Tabriz city high school female students in the academic year 2015-2016 sample of 60 students who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling in two groups (n=30) and control (n=30) were replaced. To collect the data, academic stress, life skills and risky behaviors was used. Data obtained using analysis of covariance was analyzed using SPSS software.Results: The results showed that health education program that promotes to effective with academic stress, life skills and risk behaviors. In fact, training health promoters to increase life skills and reduce stress and risk behaviors in students' education.Conclusion: Therefore, health education programs in schools can reduce risk behaviors and negative and positive behaviors such as improving life skills in students.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Diabetes has been called family disease because infected children with diabetes will face family system with enormous pressures and stress. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of coping skills on depression, anxiety and stress in mothers of adolescents with type I diabetes.Methods: This semi- experimental pretest- posttest design was conducted on mothers of diabetic adolescents referred to Tehran Diabetes Association.40 mothers were selected using random sampling method and were randomly assigned in experimental and control groups. Independent variables included 8 session coping skills training which based on cognitive behavioral approach. The tool used in this research was depression, anxiety and stress scale (DASS). The data was analyzed by analysis of covariance using software Spss 20.Results& Conclusion: The results showed that there’s a significant differences at post test scores between experimental and control groups in total score of depression, anxiety and stress. (P<0.001, F=63.25) According to results, these skills particularly recommended to reduce the severity of clinical signs specially stress in mothers of diabetic adolescents.
