Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Identify factors affecting academic adjustment is important identifying these factors because of their negative effects on the psychological, educational and material costs can be prevented. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and achievement motivation and academic adjustment in the first year undergraduate students of Kerman University of Medical Sciences were selected.Methods: This descriptive correlation cross-sectional study in 2015 that 231 students participated in the first semester of Kerman University of Medical Sciences. The data collection tool consists of four parts: demographic information, general self-efficacy, achievement motivation and academic adjustment. Data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical.Results: The mean ±SD score of self- efficacy has been 51.15±5.55, achievement motivation 73.72±4.04 and academic adjustment 124.28±25.72.Results related to the relationship between self-efficacy and achievement motivation and academic adjustment showed a significant positive correlation between selfefficacy and compatibility, there have been positive (P=0.043). Also no statistically significant relationship between achievement motivation and academic adjustment is (P=0.816).Conclusion: According to the results of this study and presented the results of studies on self-efficacy and motivation affect academic adjustment is therefore appropriate intervention programs must be designed for college students, particularly freshmen. Students who have less compatibility can be used counseling programs.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: This study aimed to investigate the reliability and validity of metacognition questionnaire Methods: The population consisted of all students in Ferdowsi University in Mashhad. Using convenience sampling method, 344 students were selected as sample. The face and content validity (experts’ opinions) and structural validity (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis) were investigated to validate the questionnaire; the Cronbach's alpha was used to investigate the reliability.Results: Three factors (cognitive-emotional awareness, lack of cognitiveemotional ambiguity, and strategy) were determined in factor analysis. Considering the Cronbach's alpha coefficient, it was determined that the questionnaire had appropriate reliability. The high correlation between subscales and total scale score showed that all of them together measured a unit behavioral field called metacognition.Conclusion: The findings showed that the different metacognition theories may be used to create a more comprehensive metacognition questionnaire which would measure both cognitive and emotional aspects of metacognition.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The present study aimed to Fitting and Path analysis knowledge management model and its role in the creativity of faculty members in universities implementing distance Education.Methods: The aim of this study is applied and the method is incorporated into the kind of quality and quantity. The study population included all faculty members at universities, education administrators from around the country that in 2901 people. Data collection from non-structured questionnaires, semi-structured and structured been used. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to check the validity of the questionnaire. Using Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality of the data and the analysis and evaluation of structural equation model (software AMOS) and to analyze the data, Lisrel and Spss software is used.Results: The aim of this study in terms of applied and the method is combination of quantitative-qualitative. The study population consists of all faculty members of distance education implementing universities around the country that counts to 2901 members. In the qualitative phase sampling purposive sampling method (non-probabilistic), including 12 experts in the field of management and quantitative sampling and sample according to cochran formula 339 people. To gather data, questionnaires unstructured, semi-structured and structured been used.Confirmatory factor analysis was used to check the validity of the questionnaire.Using Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality of the data and the analysis and evaluation of structural equation model (software AMOS) and for data analysis, software is used Lisrel v8.80.Conclusion: Effective management of knowledge provides the context in which the creation, sharing and application of knowledge in implementing distance education universities established And backgrounds to create an organization that provides creative and innovative members.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Using the Internet and multimedia technologies, cause appearance of e-learning instead of traditional learnings which needs new methods to evaluate students' ability. PNU has hold some final exams electronically since 2012.The purpose of this study is to examination the factors that affecting the quality of such tests in order to increase student’s satisfaction.Methods: The type of this study is descriptive and evaluative with a sample size of 250 using Morgan table for calculations. The sample collection method is stratified random sampling with a questionnaire for collecting data.To analyze the data, descriptive and inferential statistical methods of Spss v 20 statistical software is used.Results: Results showed that student satisfaction and quality electronic test (quality evaluation criteria, the quality of learning and the quality of modern methods of learning) There is a significant positive relationship ((P>0.01). Regression analysis showed that the quality of tests can predict 21% of student satisfaction.Conclusion: The end result of this study is that the amount of quality electronic tests more of these tests result in higher student satisfaction. In total, resulting in a positive effect on the quality satisfaction.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The present study was done to identify and analyze the components affecting the students’ retention in e-learning environment Methods: This research is applied in terms of its purpose and is exploratory mixed method in terms of the recognition of factors affecting the retention of students on the basis of theoretical and experimental background. The concepts and related theoretical foundations were exactly examined in this study (from 2000 to 2016) and affective components were explored in students’ retention. The components were based on five aspects and a questionnaire containing fifty-six questions was prepared and sent to 30 experts in the field of e-learning to precisely prioritize the components and indices. The questionnaire validity was affirmed according to experts’ ideasand its reliability was obtained 84% through Cronbach' s Alfa method. Research data were analyzed using SPSS Version 18 software and Friedman nonparametric test.Results: The results showed that the factors related to learner, courses, tutors, technology and learner environment were prioritized respectively.Conclusion: To maintain more students in e-learning environment, some factors are required to encourage more students to continue the electronic course: special attention to students’ management and computer skills, interaction factor, organizational support, instructor ability and attitude, technology quality, internet quality and providing supportive environment.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Qualitative and quantitative improvement of medical education needs informed mangers, who have necessary skills and knowledge for educational management of the large number of students and faculties in universities of medical sciences. However many of clinical department chairs start their work without being prepared for the upcoming challenges. This study carried out to provide a pattern of professional development of medical education administrators in this level.Methods: This qualitative study carried out through content analysis method in Tehran, Iran, and Shahid Beheshti Universities of Medical Sciences in 2016 by conducting semi-structured interviews with 20 medical education administrators.Data were collected by semi-structured interviews and field notes and then were analyzed by contract qualitative content analysis.Results: 499 initial codes were put into 137 concept codes, and were divided in a total of 26 sub-components and 6 main dimensions. The main dimensions were educational guidance development (4 sub-components), research guidance development (3 sub-components), clinical guidance development (4 subcomponents), managerial skills development (4 sub-components), leadership skills development (6 sub-components) and personal self-development (5 subcomponents).Conclusion: I six dimensions of professional development in this research as a pattern for professional development programs of clinical department chairs in universities of medical sciences can show positive outcomes on improving the quality of medical education. Most referred codes were development of leadership skills. It shows implementing professional development courses which can affect in improving leadership skills of department chair is more important.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: In some studies, the crucial role of information management in future of education and research in higher education has been emphasized. Educational data are significant for management goals at its macro level. This paper tries to explain the management structure of educational information at facilities of higher education of medical sciences in order to improve the information quality, obtain information, and promote the university management.Methods: In this review paper, databases such as Noor, PubMed and Elsevier, both in Persian and English from 2000 to 2017, were investigated by searching some compound keywords including “information management” to retrieve the required resources and 87 related cases were categorized along with the printed sources. No limitations were applied in the selection of sources in terms of their types.Results: The most important findings are explained in the follows. Effective information management is a prerequisite for a continued social and economic development. Information management function is concerned in all aspects of managing information. Information and its management method should lead to the productivity of academic community. Information needs of Stakeholders must be met. Findings were categorized based on educational information management in university and three main subjects, as data collecting, processing and presentation.Conclusion: In order to establish the three main steps of information management including the data collecting, processing and disseminating in universities of medical sciences, the necessary infrastructure should be made.Information systems and services should be designed, and redesigned to work based on a method that concentrates on user and tasks.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Nowadays mobile network technologies are available for people more than any other systems and is quickly penetrated in public and private sectors. One of the application of mobile technologies is to use as a tool for health monitoring, and many programs are made for this purpose. The aim of this study is to review the mobile heath concept, advantages and types of mobile health softwares, statistics about how to use and development of mobile heath industry, checking the variety of users and types of applications which will use in the future and is used now.Methods: This review study conducted in 2016, and its information are obtained from searching in Google Scholar, Scopus, Iran Medex, Magiran, Medlib, SID, Web of Science, PubMed, Noormags, Science Direct, Ebsco electronic databases.Results: Recent developements in mobile health programs provided many opportunities to improve people’s health and welfare.If mobile health applications have been used in medical centers in Iran, it can be expected that in addition to reduce costs for people and medical errors, it might cause treatment process to be faster with better quality, easier access to medical cares, providing health cares to outlying areas, improving responsiveness to patients, promoting health cares and remote treatment and etc.Conclusion: The process of using mobile health applications will be determined through this study and also there will be a way for better planning for greater use of this applications. Nowadays mobile health applications have many advocates and if these tools have been used in Iran health centers, many of communication problems between medical staff and patients will be solved.
