The province of Mazandaran, with its special natural and climatic characters, is unique amongst other provinces from ecosystem point of view. However, like other provinces it faces natural hazards with the result that it has annually more than 80 to 100 hazards on the average. Such hazards affect its ecosystem as well. In view of the fact that in the study of any tourism system, tourist, natural attractions, roads, residences and natural hazards are the basic issues involved, the present study utilizing GIS as means of directing local data, determines the capacity of the province in respect of mountaineering activities, namely pleasure trips, winter sports, water ecosystem and foothill walking. The study then refers to natural hazards such as floods and avalanches in relation with the above activities such as access roads, rural residences etc. The methods of research are mainly analytic that has been supported by field work, library usage, internet approaches, use of satellites information- Google earth -where necessary. In the course of which obtained, figures, maps and charts resulted in the fact that Mazandaran ecosystem is exposed to natural hazards In conclusion, based on findings certain solutions were purposed.
