Background and objectives: Social trust, as a prerequisite for the creation of a healthy society and social order as well as social security as a fundamental human need, has been taken into considerations by the intellectuals and experts of the humanities and social sciences. This research was conducted to investigate the relationship between social security and social trust among residents of Bandar Abbas city.Methodology: This study was conducted using survey method and using questionnaire technique. The statistical population consisted of citizens over 18 years old living in Bandar Abbas city.375 individuals were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method as sample size and then they were examined. Data analysis was performed using SPSS. The reliability of the questionnaire was assessed using Cronbach's alpha its validity was confirmed by face validity.Findings and results: The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between the five dimensions of social security (political, financial, psychological, general, judicial) and social trust. In the analysis of multivariable regression, after the inclusion of all variables, the four dimensions of social security (security, financial, general, and political) were plugged into the equation. According to the amount of coefficient of determination (R2), these variables explained 20.2% of the dependent variables. The findings of this study show that the greater is the social trust among the people of the community, the sense of social security will also be improved; therefore, in order to create social trust, conditions should be created in order for people to feel secure beside each other.
