Abstract: 

Introduction: Since medical treatment in depression disorder is only symptoms-directed, so desensitization and cognitive group therapy were used to reduce the depression of war veterans. The aim of this study was comparing the effectiveness of EMDR with cognitive therapy in reducing depression of war veterans.Method: In this semi-experimental study among all top of 25 present veterans of South and South West region that covers the Martyrs Foundation in Tehran via randomize sampling 45 persons were selected and assigned in three groups of EMDR, cognitive therapy and control. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy and group cognitive therapy participated in 8 structured 1.5 hour sessions twice per week but control group received no intervention. The data gathering instrument in this research was Beck 21 items inventory. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance.Results: The result of ANCOVA showed that after adjusting for pretest there was a significant difference between the three group means. Also the investigating of adjusted means showed that EMDR are more effective than cognitive group therapy and two experimental group symptoms in compared with control group showed a greater reduction in post-test.Discussion: The research results showed that EMDR and group cognitive therapy are effective in war veterans depression symptoms.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of religiosity on marital satisfaction among the staff of a military unit. Questions were raised in this regard are: what is the relation between religiosity and marital satisfaction? Which dimensions of religiosity have stronger relationship with marital satisfaction?Method: The method of this research is retrospective and correlational. The study population includes employees of a military unit. 370 people were considered as final sample. The sampling method of “classification“ was used.Results: Whatever the religiosity increases, life satisfaction would be increased too. That is, religiosity has direct and positive relation with life satisfaction. While studying the influence amount of religiosity different dimensions and forms we noticed that there is a clear relation between each of these dimensions with life satisfaction. Although each of these 4 relative relations is meaningful and positive, however, there is a difference between these different dimensions or forms of religiosity and life satisfaction in terms of relation intensity coefficient.Discussion: The people under the research have stronger religiosity in belief, conclusion and emotional dimensions. Since the satisfaction of guards life is high, these relations enjoy more intensity.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to determine prevalence of smoking among soldier’s and related factors, in order to help prevention of its prevalence among Iranian soldiers.Method: the research method is descriptive-correlative. Statistic population includes Iranian duty soldiers who were in military service at the time of performing this study (2010-2011). The sample was selected by quota sampling method and total of 3920 soldiers were selected. Addiction screening questionnaire, Addiction severity Index (ASI), military duty status, and demographic questionnaire were used for data gathering.Results: current prevalence rate of smoking’ among soldiers has been reported 10.6% and with considering soldiers having consumption in the past, 22% of them have smoking experience. Factors that were associated with smoking among soldiers were included: duration of military duty, the amount of vacation hours per week, the number of days of absence, the number of escapes, total days of detention during the period of military duty, Loneliness, relationship with the commander and administer, relationship with the coevals, satisfaction of location of duty, class of duty location, duty status, type of punishment and employment status prior to duty.Discussion: prevalence of smoking among our soldiers (Iran) is less than its prevalence among total population of our country. However even this low rate of smoking among soldiers indicates risk of cigarette consumption in military organizations and intervention for reducing the rate of smoking in military organizations is necessary.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The present research is provided for identifying and determining tactics and technics the us Psychological operation instruments against Iraq in 2003 warfare in stragical, operational, tactical, and consolidation levels.Method: The present research is applied research and is a type of descriptive- mesearable method. Society statistical study includes 50 experts of imam Hossein University in Psychological operation and a number of military commanders experts in Psychological warfare. (they have been choosed purposive) and for getting their opinion used a researcher questionnaire.Results: In this research Psychological operation technics and tactics agains Iraq in 2003 war, was investigated and determined in different levels and distinguished that from 49 technics was conducted by coalition forces with the us leader ship, 5 technics in stragical level with 4.57 points, 17 technics in operational level with 4.17 points, 21 technics in tactical level with 4.08 points, and 6 technics in consolidation level with 3.87 points have been used.(5 is total score).Discussion: Americans used stragical level technics for satis factory public opinion in the world, and used of tactical and operational tactics with divideing Iraq society (leaderships- armed forces- people) and then occupying Iraq used the technics of consolidation level for stability and solidation.

Abstract: 

Introduction: This research was conducted to examine the relationship between the personal factors and stress and the general health and absence from work of Hygiene Office Personnel of one of the Military Forces located in Tehran.Method: This research is a descriptive and correlational one. The studied population was all of the hospitals and Health and Hygienic offices of Tehran city. 324 people were chosen by random sampling, and then they completed the scholar form, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), Job Description Inventory (JDI), Stainmets job stress questionnaire.Results: Results showed that: 1- only the job level and content predicted the quantity of personnel absence among the personal variables. 2- The average of personnel absence in the low and high levels was more than others. 3- Variables of education level, job experience and job satisfaction were able to predict the personnel general health. That is to say, the personnel with low level of education and job satisfaction had the least degree of general health. 4- Personnel with high job stress had lower general health. 5- Personnel with low job satisfaction had the least level of general health. 6- There was a positive correlation between the job satisfaction and general health. That is the increase in job satisfaction causes personnel general health increase.Discussion: The results of this research illustrated that high job stress, low job satisfaction, an abundance of assigned duties, low level of education, age and job experience had an influential role on the increase of personnel absence and their general health decrease. The results of this research also illustrated that the degree of job stress, job dissatisfaction and the decrease in general health level were higher among female staffs than male staffs.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The main purpose of this survey is to provide and evaluate a conceptual model for information technology acceptance by users in the studied military organization and all provinces. Method: The methodology of this survey is descriptive in purpose; applied in result and quantitative in data. Statistical society consists of all managers and personnel of the studied organizations in provinces; with regards to the necessity of the survey, all society members were studied thoroughly. Data compiling tool is also questionnaire. In this questionnaire, five main hypotheses were tested at 99% confidence level.Results: The results of this survey indicated that the variables of execution expectation, behavioral intention, effort expectation and mental norm acquiring mean scores of 4.45, 3.8, 3.7 and 3.65 received one to four ranks respectively. At the same time, the index of “speed of works doing” is the most important and the index of “easy skill for using computer” is the least important index in the process of information technology acceptance.Discussion: To use computer and accept information technology, use behavior is the poorest variable among managers. The low level of this variable shows that personal will of managers to utilize computer and information technology in organizational affairs is at a low level. This matter for administrative personnel is facilitating condition which indicates the applied obstacles including factors such as the lack of training and supportive plans.

Abstract: 

Introduction: crisis management task is related to immediate and effective decision-making based on accurate information in order to reduce losses and rapid control of crisis. The purpose of this study is to identify effective personal characteristics of crisis managers in crisis and provide instruments to measure these characteristics.Methods: The method of this study is Descriptive and its tool is of type of "psychometric". The population of the study is the collection of crisis managers who are working in the provinces. Sample includes 144 crisis managers from the 15 provinces. Researcher-made questionnaires, Milon psychological tests, California personality inventory (C.P.l), and Eysenck preferences test were used.Results: The results showed that the validity of the measurement scales to assess personal characteristics of crisis managers are at a appropriate level. Moreover, the results showed the high level of self-esteem and responsibility of managers and it is necessary to take appropriate actions in the context of development of their communication skills and control of their obsessions in decision-making.Discussion: The prepared psychological instruments can be used in selecting crisis managers, and they usually encounter different environmental, social, and cultural crisis. Further, these tools can be used to identify strengths and weaknesses of current crisis managers, and therefore, taking necessary actions to improve their abilities.
