Investment in financial markets is one of the most important factors of economic development in any country. It should be attempted to make investments in securities to be converted into a public culture in the capital market of any country. One of the most important financial instruments which is developed to collect and allocate funds from investors to purchase securities in order to “reduce investment risk”, “Take advantages of the savings due to scale”, “provide benefits for investors” and “profit”, is mutual funds. Due to the importance of these institutions in economic development of communities, in this study, a fuzzy AHP and QFD combinatory framework is presented for prioritization of the factors affecting the performance of funds. In this context, fuzzy AHP approach is used in order to extract the importance of each criterion (WHATs) and the importance of the relationship between criteria and affecting factors (HOWs).Research findings indicate that managers and relevant authorities should focus on the city size with relative importance of 0.2718, human capital management with relative importance of 0.2716, ownership structure with relative importance of 0.2405 and volume of assets under management with relative importance of 0.216. The results show that it is possible to make more consistent results with higher reliability by combining qualitative techniques and multi-criteria decision making.
