The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship of internet usage with personality traits, identity styles and general health among female students of educational sciences faculty of Islamic Azad University, Shabestar Branch during the second semester of academic year 2011-2012. For this purpose, 86 students were selected via systematic random sampling method and Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI), Berzonsky's identity styles, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) and Young's internet addiction questionnaires were answered by them. The research method was correlation. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that there is not any significant relationship between identity styles and internet usage. But a significant relationship was observed between personality traits of neurosis, extroversion and conscientiousness with internet usage, and it became revealed that with the increase of neurosis personality trait, internet usage increases too. But with other two personality traits, i.e. extroversion and conscientiousness this relationship was negative and insignificant. Also, the results of the study proved that among the components of general health, there is a positive and significant relationship between depression component and internet usage. In other words, with the increase of depression, internet usage increases as well.
