Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship of the personality traits and demographic features with the JOB SATISFACTION of the personnel of Tabriz petrochemical company. The research method is descriptive and correlational–comparative. The sample size consists of 194 people‚ who were selected by stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instruments include the NEO-FFI personality questionnaire and Bray Field and Rothe questionnaire for JOB SATISFACTION. The data were analyzed by means of spss software and the use of Pearson correlation coefficient‚ t-test‚ and f-test statistical methods. The results indicated that there is a meaningful positive relationship between JOB SATISFACTION and such personality traits as conscientiousness‚ Extroversion‚ and agreeableness. The results also showed a significant negative relationship between JOB SATISFACTION and neuroticism. However‚ there was no significant relationship between the personnel's JOB SATISFACTION and such characteristics as flexibility‚ gender‚ EDUCATION‚ and WORK EXPERIENCE.
