Abstract:

Introduction: Nursing students’ communication skills lead to their health services. The present study aims to determine the impact of communication skills training on nursing students’ satisfaction in relation with patients. Methods: This semi-experimental study consists of one group of pre and posttest. 35 nursing students through simple random sampling were selected. Data was collected by a demographic data, “queen-dom communication skills test” (the validity and reliability has been approved in previous studies), and “nursing student satisfaction in communicating with patients”. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by content validity from 10 lecturers and its reliability was measured by Cronbach’s Alpha from 10 students. Data was analyzed by SPSS 21.Results: In pre-intervention stage, the average nursing student satisfaction rate in communicating with patients and its different aspects changed from 2.48 in patient’s clinical state (min) to 3.46 in verbal communication state (max). In post-intervention stage, the average parameters changed from 3.68 in patients’ clinical state to 4.50 in verbal communication state. In post-intervention stage, the average nursing student satisfaction rate was more than the average (P < 0.05).Conclusions: Communication skills training for nursing students leads to increase in their satisfaction with patients. It is suggested that nursing teaches and managers pay more attention to communication skill training in both theoretical and practical courses.

This study aims to determine the effect of cognitive behavior therapy in method group rates of anxiety and psychological resilience of menopausal women. Methods: This study was performed based on a quasi-experimental study using pretest-posttest and control group design. The population of this study consists of all menopausal women referred to gynecology clinics in the city of Ramsar during the spring of 1394. In total, 32 women were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and were randomly divided into two groups of 16 (treatment and control groups). Data was collected by “Beck's Anxiety Inventory” and “Connor- Davidson Resilience Scale” (CD-RISC). Face and content validity were confirmed by 7 experts and reliability of the questionnaires were confirmed using Cronbach’s Alpha. Experimental group was treated by cognitive behavior therapy in 8 sessions. Data was analyzed using SPSS/19.Results: Cognitive behavior therapy in method group reduces anxiety (F = 152.029 and P < 0.01) and increases the psychological resilience (F = 106.688 and P < 0.01) in women in the experimental group. While in the control group, it had no significant effect. Conclusions: It is assumed that, the cognitive behavior therapy in method group is a successful approach for decreasing anxiety and increasing psychological resilience in menopausal women. In this respect, providing proper informing society and incentive mechanisms and maintaining volunteers is very crucial. The purpose of this study is determining methodes of informing and attracting public cooperation in volunteer activities in hospitals of Tehran city. Methods: The study is a descriptive research. The sample includes 180 managers and experts in search and rescue and emergency doctors and nurses that were selected using stratified random sampling. Data was collected by "Volunteer Management" questionnaire. Validity is confirmed by 10 experts, and reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha based on the 30 preliminary questionnaires. Data is analyzed using SPSS/20.Results: The informing methodes are appropriate and significant (P ≤ 0.05). Average scores for the visual media, public call and SMS are 5.94, 5.82 and 5.63 respectively. In addition, among attracting volunteers’ cooperation mechanisms, the monthly payment (4.59) volunteer authentic card (4.43) were determined as appropriate methods (P ≤ 0.05).Conclusions: This study showed that visual media (television), public call in the city and SMS play an important role in public informing. Providing monthly salary and volunteer authentic card are effective approaches to attract volunteers. Abstract:

Introduction: One of the main issues in breast cancer treatment is metastasis, which reflects on the patient's health worsening. Studying the factors affecting this problem could prevent and ultimately treat breast cancer diseases. In this respect, this study intends to investigate the factors associated with recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer patients with marginal bivariate logistic model. Methods: In this retrospective longitudinal study, demographic and disease status information for all patients with breast cancer referred to Iranian Center for Breast Cancer from their files were collected. Incomplete records were excluded. The marginal bivariate logistic model for both recurrence and metastasis events was performed in SPSS/21.Results: In total, data of 360 patients with average age of 45.2 ± 10.2 was observed. The recurrence and metastasis in patients were 5% and 16% respectively. The odds ratio of recurrences and metastasis was 2.92. ER and lymph node involvement were influenced on recurrence and lymph node involvement was influenced on metastasis. In general, these factors had more effect on recurrence than on metastasis. Conclusions: In this study, ER and lymph node involvement were risk factors on metastasis and recurrence. By identifying risk factors of the metastasis and recurrence, indicating the progression of the disease and the lack of response to treatment, necessary treatment can earlier start for high risk patients. Use of this model is suggested for other diseases.
