Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the competence psychosocial factors (orientation of life, quality of life and perceived social support in general) to predict the physical well-being of post-BMT in Leukeamic patients. This research is correlational study. Statistical population is all of patients with acute leukeamia who are conditor for BMT. The data were gathered with 58 patients (38 men and 20 women) aging 18-45 years during 13 months via census procedure. The physical well-being in the subjects were assessed after one, two and three months post-BMT. Data were analyzed by SPSS 16. Statistic data analysis was based on descriptive statistics, univariate, multivariate and regression analysis. Results showed that quality of life and perceived social support predicted physical well-being after BMT. However, orientation of life did not predict physical well-being after BMT. It was concluded that the attention to psychosocial factors prior to BMT and during recovery appeared critical for physical well-being.

Abstract:

A sample of 60 male diabetics aging 20-60 years were randomly selected from Karaj Diabetes Association. They were randomly divided into experimental and control groups (n=30). The experiment group were trained on anger control skills and stress management. The control group received an ineffective medicine as placebo. Before training, the participants’ FBS, the glucose level two hours after absorption (2hpp) and hemoglobin (HbAc) were controlled. After training the obtained data from the post and pre-tests in the subjects were compared by means of Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Results showed that the differences between the three studied variables were significant at the P-value<0.05.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to compare the emotion regulation in smoking and non-smoking university students. The research method was casual-comparative and the statistical population were university students at Mohaghegh Ardabili in 1389-1390 (2010-2011) academic year. The statistical sample of the research included 80 smoking and 80 non-smoking students who took part in the study voluntarily, and answered Gross and John Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (2003). To analyze the data, t-test independent was used. The results indicated that non-smoking students had reappraisal (as a positive emotion regulation strategy) and smoking students had suppression (as a negative emotion regulation strategy). It was concluded that emotion regulation disorder was a risk factor in smoking university students.

Abstract:

The purpose of present study was to investigate the religious attitude, perceived stress and mental health in smoking and non-smoking university students. The study was a controled case study. The sample included 200 volunteer university students (n=100 in smoker and non-smoker groups). Then participants were assessed with the Baraheni Religious Attitude Inventory, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ). Data were analyzed using t-test. The results showed that there were significant differences between two groups regarding religious attitude, perceived stress and mental health. So that the mean of religious attitude and positive perceived stress in non-smoking students was significantly higher than smoking students while the mean of negative perceived stress and mental health in smoking students was significantly higher than non-smoking students. Also results showed that religious attitude in both groups had a posetive relationship with positive perceived stress and negative relationship with negative perceived stress and mental health. On the other hand, mental health had a negative relationship with positive perceived stress and a positive relationship with negative perceived stress. Results showed that increasing student religious attitude and training strategies for coping stress, we can prevent individuals from addiction.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate equality of life in women in different menopausal stages. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study wherein the sample was taken with multistage randomized sampling method and consisted of 276 healthy women aging from 40 to 60 years old. Data were collected with special questionnaire of QOLin menopause through interviews. Data were analyzed in SPSS using descriptive statistics and X2. Findings indicated that 72.3% of pre-menopause women and 49.3% of peri-menopause women had high QOL. The 87.1% menopause women with <5y, and 79.2% with >5y had the average QOL. The finding also showed that QOL was related to menopausal stage as well as the highest QOL was belonged to peri-menopause (p<0.001). According the findings, QOL was affected by the severity of symptoms. The results of research indicated that QOL in menopausal stage was different dependent on severity of symptoms (p<0.001).There was not any statistical significant relationship between quality of life and duration of menopause (p=0.441).Therefore raising women’s health and knowledge, and teaching health providers and adequate counseling about menopause were recommended.
