The purpose of this study was to examin the relationship of differentiation and chronic anxiety in family emotional system and family health. This was correlational study. The sample consisted of 200 students (187 females, 13 males) of Islamic Azad University-South Tehran Branch in 2018-2019 academic year who were selected by accessible method. The participants completed the Differentiation of self Inventory (DSI, Skowron, Friedlander, 1988) sub scale of chronic anxiety in family of origin of family Genogram Interview (FGI, Platt, Skowron, Carny & Kulikowich, 2008) and Family-of-origin scale (FOS, Hovestadt, Anderson, Piercy, Cochran, & Fine, 1985). Regression analyses of the results confirmed the positive and significant relationship between differentiation and family health. In addition, chronic anxiety can predict family health negatively. These findings can be used to enrich health models and better understanding of effective factors in family health.
