Introduction: Nursing registration is an important part of nursing care that can be useful and necessary for patients, nurses, and other health care providers. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of lecture training and multimedia training on knowledge, attitude and department nurses’ emergency performance in applying a communication model in nursing registration and reporting in selected military hospitals. Materials and Methods: The present quasi-experimental study was performed in two selected military hospitals in Tehran in 1398. The sample size was 42 in the lecture group and 42 in the multimedia group. Data collection tools included a demographic questionnaire and two researcher-made questionnaires measuring knowledge (10 items), attitude (10 items) and a performance measurement checklist (35 items) of emergency department nurses in applying the communication model in recording and reporting. In each group, a pre-test was performed. The lecture training method was performed in 4 two-hour sessions for four weeks and the multimedia training method was performed in 4 45-minute sessions for 4 weeks. A post-test was performed in both groups one month later. Data were analyzed by Fisher’ s exact test, paired t-test, and independent t-test using SPSS 16. Results: Both lecture and multimedia methods were effective on the knowledge, attitude, and department nurses’ emergency performance in applying the SBAR communication type in the nursing records, and the multimedia method had the most impact (P<0. 05). Discussion and Conclusion: Mental models, such as the SBAR model in nursing registration and reporting, can help nurses to accustom to the various models in nursing registration and reporting.

Abstract:

Introduction: Since the World Health Organization has introduced mental health something beyond the mere absence of mental illness, Researches increasingly focus on positive personality traits and individuals’ internal resources in the coping of psychological distress. Objective: The present study was aimed to investigate the role of self-compassion and ego strength on secondary post-traumatic stress disorder in wives of the war veterans. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive correlational study, our final sample consisted of 152 participants, who were the wives of war veterans with secondary post-traumatic stress disorder in Kermanshah province in 2019. The subjects were selected by purposive sampling method. To collect the data Reis et al. ’ s Self-Compassion Scale, psychological ego strength scale and Secondary Trauma Questionnaire (STQ) were used. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and simple linear Regression by SPSS 25. Results: The results indicated that the mean score for variables was: secondary post-traumatic stress (63. 43± 10. 55), Self-compassion (20. 91± 7. 15) and ego strength (60. 07 ± 10. 69). Moreover, Both Self-compassion (r=-0. 416, P<0. 05) and ego strength (r=-0. 278) had negative significant correlation with secondary posttraumatic stress disorder. Based on regression analysis, Self-compassion (β =-0. 37) and ego strength (β =-0. 20) were the negative significant predictors of secondary post-traumatic stress. Discussion and Conclusion: Based on the findings of this research, reducing the level of positive personality traits, such as the self-compassion and ego strength as a source of coping in the secondary victims of trauma, the risk of their Psychopathology increases. It is suggested that the role of these factors in treating trauma and stressrelated disorders be considered.

Abstract:

Introduction: The pilot has a continuous flow of various activities that require navigation, attention, and navigation working memory. Fighter pilots are more vulnerable to cognitive impairment due to positive gravitational acceleration. This point indicates the importance of their cognitive assessments. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate visual-spatial cognitive function and attention in the pilots of the Airforce of the Islamic Republic of Iran and compare these factors between fighter pilots and other aviation personnel. Materials and Methods: An analytic observational cross-sectional study was performed on 49 fighter pilots (group 1) and other aviation personnel (group 2). A list of demographic variables and flight histories was recorded. Then Addenbrooke’ s Cognitive Examination-Revised, Rey– Osterrieth complex figure test, Forward and Backward Digit Span (FDS and BDS), and Brief Visual-spatial Memory Test-Revised were token. Data were analyzed by SPSS 18 (P <0. 05). Results: Both groups were homogeneous regarding age, sex, education, militarygrade, flight history, and complaints of cognitive symptoms. The scores of the tests were not statistically significant between the two groups. More than 10 years of flight history and equal or less than 10 years of flight history were respectively related to higher and lower scores in BDS and “ recalling words” . The scores of FDS were higher in those with equal or less than 400 hours of flight history. The scores of “ delayed recalling” were higher in people with more than 400 hours of flight history and those with more than 40 hours of flight history in the last 6 months. Discussion and Conclusion: There was no difference in visual-spatial function and attention between fighter pilots and other aviation personnel, but flight history was related to the scores of some cognitive subtests.

Abstract:

Introduction: Power and empathic behavior of perspective-taking in recent researches in the field of psychology, especially social and military psychology, has taken on a different meaning to the extent that these two can improve interpersonal military relationships. In most studies, the role of empathy in military relations is very important in reducing stress and aggression. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of power on empathic behavior, the role of moderating aggression and the relationship between empathy and aggression in a military sample. Materials and Method: This study was carried out in two stages. Initially, 48 soldiers completed the questionnaire of dispositional empathy by Davis and Dewerks’ and the questionnaire of interpersonal aggression by bass and Perry. In the second stage, these soldiers were randomly assigned to three groups: high power, low power, and neutral power. In the first stage, the correlation method was used and in the second stage of the experiment, logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the effect of power on empathic behavior of perspective-taking and control variables of dispositional empathy, interpersonal aggression, and demographic variables. Finally, the data were analyzed using SPSS version 18. Results: The findings of the first stage of this study indicated a significant association between dispositional empathy and interpersonal aggression (P= 0. 44 and α <0. 05); in the second stage the effect of power on empathic behavior of perspective-taking (P=0. 033 and α <0. 05) And the moderating role in relation between power and empathic behavior of perspective-taking were also significant (P= 0. 018 and α <0. 05). Discussion and Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the probability that individuals with higher scores of anger show empathy behaviors (English E in reverse direction) are 45. 58 times higher than those who have lower scores in the subscales of anger. The low power person behaves in an empathic way 0. 066 times more likely than those with high power.

Abstract:

Introduction: Obesity and overweight are some problems in this century in the field of mental health. Objective: This study was done to Predict food craving based on the incompatible domains of personality with the mediating role of non-adaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation. Materials and Methods: The present study was descriptive-correlational, a type of path analysis model. The statistical population of this study was all students of Amol Institute in 2018-2019. A sample of 189 students was selected using the available sampling method and they responded to the Food Craving Questionnaire-Trait: FCQ-T, Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (short form), and the Short Version of the Personality Questionnaire (DSM-5) (PID-5). Pearson correlation coefficient and regression-based path analysis were used to analyze the data. Results: Independent variables of negative affection with dependent variable of food cravings (r=0. 207), antagonism with food craving (r=0. 234), disinhibition with food craving (r=0. 288), psychoticism with food craving (r=0. 267) and independent variables of negative affection with the mediating variable of non-adaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation (r=0. 350), detachment with non-adaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation (r=0. 217), disinhibition with non-adaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation (r=0. 221), psychoticism with non-adaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation (r=0. 172) and the mediator variable have a significant correlation between non-adaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation with dependent variable of food craving (r=0. 243). On the other hand, the disinhibition trait (P=0. 027), in addition to the direct effect, has an indirect effect due to nonadaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation on food craving (P=0. 009). Discussion and Conclusion: Finally, according to the findings, it can be concluded that the cognitive management of negative emotions plays a role in mediating the relationship between incompatible domains of personality with food craving. These results may provide tips for determining more effective steps to prevent overweight, obesity or low weight or weight control interventions.
